Steels, Skins and Scents sells a variety of knives, swords, leather goods. The proprietor, Jerry, has been in the leatherworking business since 1989, and has been doing leatherwork since 1967. He is mostly self-taught and specializes in medieval and renaissance armor and accessories. He has vended at Renaissance Faires throughout the midwest, a number on the east coast, and supplies local recreation societies, medieval and otherwise.
Through his shop and website, a variety of ready-made and custom armor, clothing, belts, and pouches are available. In addition, a number of other custom items may be ordered, and quotes on all such custom items are provided free of charge.
In addition to leather goods, Steels, Skins and Scents carries a huge variety of knives and swords. Fantasy and collectors knives and swords, sword sets, medieval knives and swords, oriental knives and swords and much more are available. Other renissance/medival items available include chainmail, primitive archery gear (old English longbows, Mongolian horse bows, wooden arrows) and decorative leather items. Woodburned items in leather as well as wood are sold, and custom woodburnings will be happily made upon request.
